I currently attend Dartmouth College, where I'm a senior who is studying Computer Science and Digital Arts. I have served as a mentor and tutor for a few years. When taking the SAT and ACT in order to get into college, I was able to score within the 99th percentile. As a high school student, I worked at a homeless shelter. Here, I volunteered to tutor children in the daycare. I now focus much of my tutoring on college essay writing and helping students better prepare for the SAT. Many of the students I have helped have been able to get into top schools, like Dartmouth, Berkeley, and Stanford. I have worked with many gifted students, but I do believe in tailoring my approach to the needs of each student that I work with. I know that all students learn in different ways. When I tutor, I like to set goals for each session. I also provide homework to give students more time to practice. I am able to accept students into my home for tutoring sessions, as I feel it offers a great setting to learn. I like to play the cello and dance to hip hop. I also like to work on freelance web design projects.
